How do referral programs work?

A basic referral campaign works with a personalised web link that customers can share with people in their network. With this link the referred person can unlock a reward, for example a voucher, when they create an account.

Referral programs usually have an incentive for both parties. If the referred person buys something after they create an account the referring person receives a reward, too.

Some referral programs work with a referral code instead of a link. In this case a referral code can be manually entered during the account creation process. Both options will have the same effect (technically the referral URL actually includes the referral code from the referring person).

In this guide we give you some insights on what you need to consider when setting up a referral program with Spaaza. We will also provide some best general practice examples of successful referral programs.
